What We Do

Your team and residents are considered a priority, and we want to make sure you have the resources you need to get your staff and residents vaccinated against COVID-19. From town hall meetings and vaccine resources and education, to vaccination incentives, one-on-one conversations, and even just someone to talk to, we want to make sure you have what you need to get the job done!

The team consists of health professionals from Harvard University and Hebrew Senior Life, Brown University, and Insight Therapeutics. Working under the National Institute of Aging (NIA) grant called the IMPACT COLLABORATORY (IMPACT-C for short), we are focusing on outreach designed to encourage nursing home residents and staff to get good information about the vaccine.

Objective

We are conducting a cluster randomized study to compare the effect of usual care to a “high-touch” intervention intended to reduce vaccine hesitancy in nursing home residents and staff.  The intervention includes identifying and training local opinion leaders, offering them assistance through real-time support for questions and concerns, and providing support access to consenting specialists that can talk to residents, their Legally Authorized Representative (LAR), and health care personnel about questions and concerns about COVID and the COVID-19 vaccines.  The intervention is designed to educate, build trust, and support the consent process, with the aim of increasing COVID-19 vaccination.
